Elementary Coaches Training

A trained Coach is required to implement the Sources of Strength Elementary Curricula. At least one staff member from your school must attend a 2-day Coaches Training to learn about the student lessons and the adult coaching model.

Training and support are essential for effective and sustainable implementation. The elementary program utilizes a Coaching Model to equip district and building-level leaders to support classroom instructors (those who will deliver lessons in the classroom). It is recommended that each school train at least two Coaches. The model requires schools to have at least one Coach from the school.

Coaches must:

  • Attend a two-day training, which develops fluency in the content and capacity to coach and support classroom instructors.

  • Provide professional development training and learning opportunities for your school.

  • Deliver the lessons or help identify school staff members to do so.

  • Provide ongoing support to classroom instructors.

  • Establish and facilitate ongoing monthly Coaching Meetings with classroom instructors.
