1,809 Ohioans died by suicide in 2019 and the pandemic has heightened concerns about mental health and suicide. According to the Ohio Department of Health, suicide is the second-leading cause of death for youth ages 15-19 and the leading cause of death for children ages 10-14.
These alarming numbers and statistics have created a readiness for a suicide prevention program in Ohio designed to support the mental health and wellness of Ohio’s young people.
Ohioans are being offered the Sources of Strength suicide prevention program at no cost with funding from the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addictions Services.
